Langkawi
Guess where I’ve been these past few days!

I last headed to Langkawi some… 2.5 years ago. Oh my God… No, it’s 3.5 years ago (nearly 4 years) in December 2004, just a few days short of the now infamous tsunami that swept through Asia.

Those were the days. We had so much fun just driving through Langkawi, hotel-hopping (no money for island hopping), buying up lots of booze, snapping photos, wrecking havoc, and getting seasick (with Ms. Tan Chiew Whoi making me take a ridiculous amount of photos of herself posing on the deck of the ferry)!
This July there will be a repeat of our trip which will be a lot further this time – EUROPE! Minus Jolene but including Rachel and the recently confirmed Val! We will have a blast!

I tend to digress. That aside, I just got back from good ol’ Langkawi with Izzy, Jacks, Shean, Elvi and Kok Wui. Thanks to AirAsia’s promotional tickets, we paid for only airport taxes and flew at approximately RM90 (round trip) to Malaysia’s Island of Sin (sin because of the as-cheap-as-water booze and liquor, half priced death sticks and duty-free imported chocolates). Together with our cheap-as-hell rented Suzuki ERV, we explored Langkawi in (unfortunately) the rain.

Probably due to the cyclone in Myanmar, for the 4 days we were there, it rained for 3 and so our supposed island retreat for the sea, sand and sun became a wet adventure. Our 4 days there consisted of beaching…

watching the boys battle it out on the sand by wrestling…

even footballing

Of course, we drove around in our Suzuki ERV MPV, thinking of where to go, what to do

or just to feel the breeze

Not to forget the camwhore moments

We all had our fair share of doing stupid things

Just… some more so than others

We saw cute animals

and nasty little bugs

We learned lots from this trip though…
That Shean hates cable car rides

Kok Wui fears AirAsia’s airbus and sleeps like a praying mantis
that Izmir drinks *gasps*

(disclaimer: not true =P, he was only holding Elvi’s Skol)
but most of all, we learned that

Signing off

hmm, i guess your friend who hates cable car rides would be perfect for pmay
Lyn…you did a LOT of screaming on the way down too…*winkz*
Somehow i missed the point. Probably lost in translation
Anyway … nice blog to visit.
cheers, Civilian
