home sweet home
I noticed the apparent lack of updates but hey… Here I am – with an influx of photos! So if this post seems to lag your computer…
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Well, as most of you know, I’m back in Penang for my study break (study, my foot lah). One of the main reasons to why I’m back here would be because my two lovely cousins, accompanied by m uncle and aunt (notice how the spotlight are on my cousins) have come back to Penang for the summer holidays, all the way from Cleveland, Ohio! See, the last time I actually saw them in person, Julianne was 4 and Joel was only turning 1.
*ahem*

Julianne turned six this year and boy has she grown since I last saw her when she was four! Funnily enough, Julianne kind of reminds me of myself when I was her age (looks aside, of course, since I never did look as sweet as she did). Likes and dislikes when it comes to food, eating habits, the way we talk (or rather, the way I used to talk) and respond to unfamiliar people.. that sort of thing. Maybe that’s why I’m closer to her and kind of understand when she prods her younger brother (trust me, I can relate). She’s a sweetie, really. Intelligent for her age (and I’m not saying this just because I so absolutely love her) and very, very cheeky.
Ah.. then you see little Joel.

Joel however (note: pronounced as jo-uhl, not typical Msian/British pronounciation joh-ell. My uncle insists it’s the correct pronounciation or rather, the correct AMERICAN pronounciation and when my aunt was pregnant with him, my uncle called my mom countless times to debate the pronounciation. Mother dearest actually referred to dictionaries to attempt to sway her youngest brother’s opinion but to no avail!). Joel will turn three this November. I saw him last when he turned one and when he was around at that time, he was a fumbling and very grouchy baby with an ear infection. He definitely surprised me when I came back this time around. Took him mere minutes to warm up and next thing you know, everytime I walk into the room, he jumps right at me squealling: “My friend is here!!” with his sister correcting him every single time, “No! She’s your cousin!” So adorable. Trust me. He’s just too adorable. Imagine this conversation with his mom:
Joel: Mommy I need medicine
Aunt Jen: Why? What’s wrong?
Joel: I need medicine to cure my bad mood! The kind you can eat!
No… I am not joking. That’s exactly what he said. You should’ve seen him when my mom bought him “Cars” t-shirts. He was so excited that he stripped right there and then to try them on, later refusing to take them off. He’s got this obsession with Bob the Builder and trucks and cars and construction vehicles.
Ok. I’m going back to studying. I shall leave you with gazillions (I wish.. if I were there for the whole 2 weeks they were back home, trust me. I’d have gigabytes on my old and only occasionally trustworthy Toshiba Satellite) of photos.
Drool and enjoy, baby cuteness!

siblings as usual…
